Score your cybersecurity posture.

Eight quick questions on the controls that matter for a Western Australian SMB — passwords, MFA, patching, backups, EDR, staff training, incident planning and supplier risk. We score each control 0 to 3; the total becomes the band your Perth engineer will quote back to you.

ACSC Essential Eight aligned · Perth-flavoured scoring · nothing leaves this page until you choose to email yourself the report.

How the scoring works

Honest beats impressive.

Each control is scored 0 (none) to 3 (strong). The total ranges from 0 to 24 and lands in one of three bands: At risk, Exposed, or Defended. Mid-points are partial credit on purpose — pick the answer that describes your situation today, not the one you would like to be true next quarter.

  • At risk

    0–7

One or more controls are well below the ACSC Essential Eight floor. Easy to fix in a quarter.

  • Exposed

    8–16

Workable but with notable gaps. A focused 30-day plan moves you into Defended.

  • Defended

    17–24

At or above the ACSC baseline for small business. The next move is keeping the lead.

We do not track who you are at this point. The quiz runs entirely in your browser; the only thing that crosses the network is the optional "email me this report" button at the end.
